About Removing EXIF Data
Most photos taken with a phone or camera contain hidden EXIF metadata: the device make and model, software version, the exact date and time, camera settings, and very often the GPS coordinates of where the picture was taken. None of this is visible in the image itself, but anyone who downloads the file can read it with free tools.
That is a real privacy concern. A photo of your home, your car, or your children can silently reveal your street address. Photos posted to forums, marketplaces, or sent by email usually keep their metadata intact (some social networks strip it, but many sites do not).
This tool removes metadata by re-encoding the image through an HTML canvas, which keeps the pixels but discards every metadata segment. The processing happens entirely on your device, so the original photo never leaves your computer. JPEG images are re-saved at high quality (95%), and PNG images stay PNG.
